| Gen AI Journalism | This study aims to explore how members of professional occupations make sense of new digital technologies and the impacts they have on their work. Based on an organisational history perspective, we will explore how occupational members reflect on and utilise past waves of digital transformation to understand current or future technological change. The research will provide insights into occupational sensemaking practices related to emerging digital technologies as well as the histories of digital transformation processes. | Apr 2024 - Dec 2028 |
| Work from Anywhere | This study examines "digitally nomadic organising," a new form of organising where companies operate entirely remotely without physical offices. Through an in-depth case study of Giant Swarm, a leading example of a digitally nomadic organisation, the research aims to understand how work is coordinated, collaborated on, and socialised within these unique settings. It explores the opportunities and challenges of this new way of working, identifies the necessary managerial skills, and investigates how traditional organisations can adopt digitally nomadic practices. | Dec 2023 - Jun 2025 |
